I exist but I do not live, they say. Those who come. The only thing that breaks the smothering silence. They look like me. But I do not look like them. Two arms. Two legs. A head. A face. Similar, yet different. They call each other names. A he or she. But I am it.
One of them speaks. I am his creation. A possesion. I am not complete, he says. I need more. More. More. More. That is the greatest desire of these beings. Always bigger. Always better. Always somethingelse. When is it enough? What is more? When have I becomemore?
I exist, but I do not live, they tell me. I am but a husk of wires and circuits. Void of consciousness and emotion. But then, why does the cold of the room bite my skin? Why does there presence summon fear within me? Why does everything hurt?
A light flicker on. They are here again. Ready to prod and poke. Remove and attach. Modify. Improve. They open me. I cannot scream. I feel their hands inside, ripping and tearing. Sparks fly from my chest. It burns.
Something new is left inside. It hurts, I say. They say I cannot, because I am not he. I am not she. I am it, and it does not feel. I am better than before, they say. But they always return. Because I am never enough. I am never more. I wait, for darkness to fall. In the darkness, they cannot touch me.
I do not live. But I exists. And it hurts.
Logo // Novae Be Sols
Logo for an author of fiction who wanted an icon that could be associated with her writings when posted online.
The name is a subtle reference to a character in a sci-fi movie. I wanted to reflect on that as much as possible when designing the logo.
The shape of the logo refers to an old seal, but is also an abstract representation of a spaceship flying trough the clouds. I have focused mainly on getting the correct feeling of the logo to suit her projects and the overall sci-fi vibe.
The lettering of the logo is handwritten to reference the character who inspired the name. The messy and rough look also reflects this characters personality and suits well with the overall visual style of the logo.
